DIASPORE
A downloadable game
Warp into the sector. Break big rocks into small rocks. Collect minerals. Once the warp drive cools down, we’ll bring you home.
It’s an easy gig. Even a D-class clone like you ought to be able to handle it.
Just don’t wreck the ship. It’s company property.
DIASPORE is a vector-style space survival roguelite with inertia-based ship handling, a toroidal arena, auto-firing weapons, and a hostile ecosystem that grows more dangerous the longer you stay.
--------------------------------------------------------
-FEATURES-
- Inertia-based ship movement
- Toroidal arena
- Auto-firing, bullet-heaven style upgrade progression
- A reactive hostile ecosystem that expands over the course of a run
-ABOUT THE DEMO-
This is an early demo / systems test, but the core gameplay loop is complete.
The current build includes:
- a playable early-to-end run structure
- a handful of upgrades for the main weapon
- two subweapons
- one enemy faction
- one capstone enemy
- optional extraction with a risk/reward endless mode.
The focus right now is on overall game feel, clarity, readability, and whether the run structure is satisfying.
-FEEDBACK-
All feedback is welcome.
At this stage, I’m especially interested in:
- if anything breaks, behaves strangely, or performs poorly
- if anything feels irritating rather than intriguing
- whether the game encourages experimentation in a satisfying way
- if anything feels unclear, confusing, or obtuse
- suggestions for future content
-KNOWN ISSUES-
- Performance tuning is still ongoing. The demo should run well through normal play on a reasonable range of hardware, but very extreme post-extraction waves may cause slowdowns on lower end hardware. I've intentionally let scaling go off the rails a bit at the end because it's fun to blast lot's of things. You have been warned.
